Xboxlive’s Arcade of Summer continues this week with Hydro Thunder Hurricane(1200msp), an all new, full-featured sequel that features rocket-powered speedboats blasting across amazing dynamic water, gorgeous visuals, and interactive environments packed with shortcuts, switches and surprises, Pit your rocket powered speedboat against 15 opponents in single-player races and championships. Hone your speedboat skills in the new Ring Master and Gauntlet modes. Dive into intense multiplayer races with up to eight players over Xbox LIVE, up to four players locally, or even mix local and online games!

In Hydro Thunder Hurricane you’ll have the chance to unlock boats and skins for these giving you the chance to use more than 30 boat variations as you race on what can only be described as superb graphical environments with excellent
water and physics effects.

Game setup is very simple, you take part in a series of races set in different environments using progressively faster and to some degree more unstable jet powered boats collecting powerups (boost) as you go, The maps vary in difficulty, but most of the maps we played seemed similar to theme parks, with giant asgard gods swinging huge axe’s at you or Monster Island where you have to avoid massive creatures as you race, all of them have short cuts that allow you to get gain an advantage over your opponents.

The superb visuals combined with the echoing sound effects will have you coming back for the occasional race once you have cmpleted it, so to a lot of gamers it will offer replayability value..
There’s also multiplayer mode and at just 1200msp its amongst the best of XBLA titles to date..
