Aliens: Colonial Marines Pushed Back

Four years ago Gearbox officially announced Aliens: Colonial Marines, in the time since time its first announcement Aliens: Colonial Marines has had the ocassional Press Release letting us all know that the game is still under development and will still be released at some point, Today that point (release date) was pushed back again from Spring 2012 to Winter 2012.

In what is becoming a typical reason for game push backs recently, the dev team have attributed the pushback release date to the game needing more polish.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line. While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective. We don’t want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blue print. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blue print because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritizing this goal over the previously targeted date.
